MICROLV PMU FAQ
At MicroLV PMU, I run a one-man studio, and I'm here to assist you. However, please understand that my time is limited. You may find answers to some of your questions in our FAQ section.
Permanent Makeup, also known as micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic procedure in which pigment is implanted into the upper layer of the skin to enhance or create long-lasting makeup effects. It's used to mimic the appearance of makeup, such as eyeliner, eyebrow shading, lip liner, and even full lip color. The goal is to provide a semi-permanent solution that can last for several months to years, reducing the need for daily makeup application. It can be particularly beneficial for individuals who want to save time on their daily beauty routine or those with medical conditions that affect their appearance, such as alopecia or scarring
Purpose:
Permanent Makeup (PMU): Primarily used to enhance or mimic traditional makeup, such as eyeliner, eyebrows, and lip color. It aims for a natural and subtle look.
Tattoo: Often used for artistic and decorative purposes, personal expression, and can involve intricate and colorful designs.
Depth of Pigment:
PMU: The pigment is implanted into the upper layers of the skin (epidermis and upper dermis), which is shallower compared to tattoos.
Tattoo: Tattoo ink is deposited into the deeper layers of the skin (dermis), making it permanent and difficult to remove.
Pigment Composition:
PMU: Permanent Makeup pigments are often formulated to fade over time, with milder and more organic ingredients. They are designed to mimic the appearance of makeup and are less intense.
Tattoo: Tattoo ink contains more vibrant and intense colors and is intended to be long-lasting and resistant to fading.
Duration:
PMU: While "permanent," PMU tends to fade over time, usually within 1-2 years. Touch-ups are typically required to maintain the desired look.
Tattoo: Traditional tattoos are meant to be permanent and can last a lifetime, with some fading and color changes over many years.
Appearance:
PMU: Aims for a subtle and natural appearance, enhancing one's features without looking like traditional makeup.
Tattoo: Often features more prominent and artistic designs, which can be highly visible.
Application Technique:
PMU: Utilizes specialized equipment and techniques for cosmetic applications. The procedure is generally less painful and heals faster compared to tattoos.
Tattoo: Typically applied using a tattoo machine with needles designed for deeper penetration into the skin.
In summary, Permanent Makeup is a specialized form of tattooing with a focus on subtle, natural enhancements and shorter-term color retention compared to traditional tattoos. It is important to choose a trained and experienced professional for both procedures, as they involve the use of needles and pigments.
Nano Machine Hair Stroke Brow and Scalp Micropigmentation procedures do not involve the use of numbing cream. This is because their purpose is to create the finest lines or dots to achieve the most natural look possible. However, the discomfort during these services is generally quite mild, and most individuals find it manageable.
"Touch-up sessions for Permanent Makeup are crucial for several reasons:
Safety: To avoid overworking the delicate skin on your face, ensuring a safe procedure.
Natural Look: To achieve the most natural and beautiful results by layering the pigments gradually after each healing phase.
Variability: Different skin types and conditions yield different healing results. Some skin types accept pigment well, while others may require multiple sessions for optimal results
No, as results can vary due to different skin types. However, if you're seeking lower prices for touch-ups, we have a referral program and events that can help you save money. In exceptional cases, we may offer a 50% discount on touch-ups. (Based on a minimum of two visits within a three-month period). SMP and Lip Blushing may require additional touch-ups for optimal results, and these extra touch-ups are not included in MicroLV's coverage. Especially when there has been prior work done by another artist, we cannot guarantee the outcome

While additional tips are always appreciated, they are not mandatory at MicroLV Creative. Our pricing is already significantly lower than others, and we do not make extra requests of our clients. However, we do hope that our clients understand and consider leaving a gratuity, especially during events when our prices are exceptionally low. An average tip of around $20 or more per hour of service is typically expected.
The concept behind our Referral Program is to create a mutually beneficial relationship for both our clients and us. Instead of investing heavily in marketing expenses, we prefer to reward our clients. However, the success of this program relies on maintaining the quality of our work and ensuring that our clients continue to look and feel beautiful

Permanent makeup may not be suitable for everyone, and there are specific cases where it's not recommended:
Pregnant or Nursing Women: It's generally advised to avoid permanent makeup procedures while pregnant or nursing due to potential risks and uncertainties associated with the process.
Certain Medical Conditions: Individuals with certain medical conditions or skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, or dermatitis may not be suitable candidates as these conditions can affect the healing process and final results.
Allergies: People with allergies to the ingredients in permanent makeup pigments should avoid these procedures.
Blood Disorders: Individuals with bleeding disorders or those taking blood-thinning medications may not be good candidates as these conditions can increase the risk of bleeding and complications.
Recent Cosmetic Procedures: If you've recently had other cosmetic procedures in the same area, it's essential to consult with a professional to determine the appropriate timing for permanent makeup.
History of Keloids or Hypertrophic Scarring: People with a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring may be at higher risk for abnormal scarring after permanent makeup.
Unrealistic Expectations: Those with unrealistic expectations or those who are unsure about the procedure should carefully consider whether permanent makeup is right for them.
It's essential to consult with a qualified and experienced permanent makeup artist or a dermatologist who can assess your individual circumstances and determine if you are a suitable candidate for the procedure. They can also provide guidance on the risks and benefits based on your specific situation.
Filling out the consent form and providing your medical history is a requirement set forth by the Nevada Health Department (SNHD). It's important to understand and agree that permanent makeup is not easily removable and comes with limitations. Therefore, effective communication and a clear understanding are crucial before proceeding.
Many of our customers have reported experiencing less pain at MicroLV compared to their previous experiences. We prioritize your comfort by using numbing cream, applying it multiple times before the procedure. As a safety measure, we use an empty needle cartridge to assess your pain tolerance before proceeding. If you find it uncomfortable at this stage and choose to stop, a nominal fee of $25 will be charged.
If we sense your genuine commitment to showing up on time, we may make exceptions. However, maintaining trust is crucial. Our procedures typically take an hour or longer, and a no-show significantly impacts our income, making it challenging to sustain our affordable prices. Therefore, the best practice is to book your appointment online and provide the required deposit.
