Body Art includes tattooing and Permanent Makeup (PMU). PMU is a part of tattooing, covering techniques such as Microblading Brows, Ombre Brows, Lip Blushing, Eyeliner, Scalp Micropigmentation, Scar Camouflage, and more.

At MicroLV, located in Las Vegas, owner Jimmy T. has over 6 years of experience in the Body Art industry and more than 20 years of drawing and fine art background. Few artists have knowledge across so many categories, from Artistic, Realism, and Detailed Tattoos to the full spectrum of PMU services.

This apprenticeship is designed for people who:

  • Want to enter the body art industry

  • Need affordable prices

  • Want to earn income during apprenticeship

  • Want to learn real business operations in a licensed studio

  • Love art and have true passion

Licensing & Training

To qualify for a Body Art License in Nevada (Las Vegas), students must train 30+ hours per week for 6 months under a licensed mentor. While full training takes time, you can start simple tattoos within a few weeks—for example, lining tattoos on easy body positions. PMU students may start with Ombre Powder Brows and perform touch-ups early on, while continuing to learn other categories.

Training is solid, hands-on, and practical. Jimmy T. also teaches online through his “Married with PMU” YouTube channel and PMU 101 online class.

Requirements

  • Interview required (Jimmy T. only teaches those with passion, respect for the craft, and legal work status in the U.S.)

  • Students must follow studio rules and professional standards

Tuition & Materials

  • Total: $3,000

    • $1,500 first month

    • $1,000 second month

    • $500 third month

  • Includes: $100 worth of in-class materials

  • Students must purchase their own machines and practice supplies, but you can test Jimmy T.’s equipment first to decide what works best.

Why Choose This Apprenticeship?

  • Jimmy T. has already invested over $50,000 in training—most classes cost $5,000 for just 5 days with no license or real experience included.

  • Typical training requires travel, high tuition, and no real-world practice.

  • After those programs, you’re on your own to rent a room ($800–$1,300/month) and market yourself.

  • Here, you get affordable training, real client experience, and mentorship in an operating studio.

You need to go through the Body Art Department to check all regulations and paperwork, and also get a business license. This process can take around 2 months, and you still need to invest in all the small equipment. There’s so much drama before you even start!

That’s why this is the fastest, easiest, and most affordable way to get into the Tattoo / Body Art / PMU industry. As long as you love body art and have passion — just follow MicroLV rules.

  • Able to speak English

  • Available at least 30 hours per week (for 6 Months)

Learning Speed & Opportunities

How quickly you progress depends on your discipline and dedication. In just a few weeks, you may be able to begin performing simple body art procedures. Training is customized to your level, and you’ll learn at the pace you can handle.

As your mentor, Jimmy T. has the right to allow you to operate—or stop you from operating—for safety reasons. Once you are ready and approved, you may work on live procedures. At that point, you will receive a percentage of earnings and always keep 100% of your tips.

Important Notes

We cannot disclose every detail here. If you are truly interested, please contact Jimmy T. directly. Spots are very limited and this is a limited-time offer.

For the SNHD Body Art Exam, the license fee is about $175. The required Bloodborne Pathogens online certification and training costs around $19.99.

Machines, equipment, and practice materials vary, but you should prepare to invest around $500 to get started.

I also have many videos reviewing different machines—I’ve tested them all, and no one tests them the way I do!

Questions are welcome—as long as they are respectful and you have done your research.

After completing the 6-month apprenticeship, you will receive a Nevada Permanent Body Art License. From there, you can open your own salon, work with another artist, or choose to continue working with us.

FAQ:

If I’m almost 18 (within a few months), can I learn Body Art?
Technically, you must be 18 to tattoo real skin, but you can begin training and practicing on practice skin before that.

How fast can I start making money, and how much?
That really depends on how hard you practice and how much passion you have. In the beginning, you might work for free and only receive tips. As you improve and can perform procedures more independently, you can start earning a percentage.

On average, body art artists in the United States make about $25,000 to $30,000 in their first year. As you gain more clients and your work gets better, your income will increase every year.

And don’t forget — at MicroLV, Jimmy T not only teaches Tattoo but also all areas of Permanent Makeup. That means you’ll have the opportunity to build a stronger and more reliable income!

Compared to some programs like graphic design or nail tech, which often cost $3,000 to $5,000 for just half a year, during training you usually do not earn any income.

Some diploma programs take 2 years and cost between $20,000 and $50,000+. After graduation, you might still start at only around $25,000 to $40,000 per year.

If I already know some skills, like from an online class, do I get a discount?
No! Because we don’t just teach one category — we teach all categories. When you train in my shop, you’ll also learn many secrets you can’t find online.

If you already have a tattoo license, then yes, I can give you $500 off.

Can I be a part-time student?
Yes, but it’s better to follow a fixed schedule. For more details, an interview is required.

Can I be a part-time tattoo artist after the apprenticeship?
Of course, it’s possible! MicroLV has 4 stations, and if you keep a fixed schedule, it’s much easier to arrange. For example, if you’re a lawyer but love tattooing as a hobby, you can book your own clients during the week or on weekends. We’ll work with you to arrange reasonable prices and available times for a workstation.

Can I learn PMU first and then Tattoo?
Yes, of course! It really depends on what you’re most interested in. But remember, many of the techniques can cross over and be used in both.

“If I’m good at drawing, does it help?”
Yes, of course! Tattooing is basically drawing on the body. But it’s different—skin is alive, every skin type is unique, and skin has muscle that moves. At the highest level, great tattooing enhances the muscle and makes your client’s body flow look even cooler. The art becomes alive and full of movement!

These days, we also have many tools that make the process easier—computers, stencils, iPads, online graphics, even AI-generated designs. That means even if you’re not highly trained in drawing, you can still start. Some tattoos don’t require advanced drawing skills—you just follow the stencil.

But little by little, you’ll develop your own style, and naturally improve your drawing skills as you go.

And always remember: Love is the most powerful energy in this 3D world.

Why do I need to learn every category of Body Art?
Because tattooing and permanent makeup use very similar techniques. They both require the same body art license, and the equipment and needles are very similar. All the knowledge is connected.

By practicing tattooing, you gain a deeper understanding of PMU. By improving your PMU skills, you also become better at tattooing. That’s why you should learn as much as possible. With one advertisement, you can promote multiple services.

It’s unfortunate when customers leave simply because you don’t offer extra related skills.

“If I don’t have time or money, should I start a Body Art Apprenticeship?”
This is the wrong question to ask. Look at Michael Jordan—before becoming one of the greatest NBA players, he worked extra jobs, even serving food to his teammates, just to earn enough to live while training with them. Madonna worked in restaurants and did part-time modeling to support her singing career long before she became famous. Elon Musk’s mom, Maye Musk, raised three kids as a single mother while working several part-time jobs, yet she still kept her modeling career alive.

The point is: it’s not about having unlimited time or money—it’s about vision, passion, belief, and the happiness of moving forward despite challenges.

Using swimming as an analogy: When you first learn to swim, you might just be learning how to float on the water. It could take quite some time, and then suddenly you get the hang of floating, and that’s your first step. Learning tattooing or PMU is the same—you have that one “click” moment when you start to grasp enough knowledge. Then, as you practice more and more, you get faster and more skilled, just like eventually being able to swim in the ocean or even compete.

This 6-month apprenticeship is like learning to swim and then going straight into the ocean. You’ll face many challenges, but having a mentor swimming alongside you makes it much safer. Your mentor can help you right away, point out mistakes, and give you clear direction so you don’t waste time figuring everything out on your own. Jimmy T is here to be your mentor and guide you through the process.

This is what Jimmy T suggests you do:
If you’re interested, search online (or even ask AI) to find out which Body Art / Tattoo / PMU salons in your area accept apprentices.

Jimmy T can arrange a short interview (about 15 minutes). At the very least, you’ll have a chance to ask questions and clear up your concerns.

Just thinking about it without taking action won’t work. With over 25 years of business experience, I can tell you—things are often easier than you think!

👉 Call or text a tattoo shop and say:
"Hey! I really want to start my body art career, but I don’t know where to begin. I’m willing to work hard and practice hard. If your shop is still looking for apprentices, could you give me a chance to meet up?"

From a tattoo shop owner’s perspective: we are always looking for students who have passion. A good teacher will teach you everything they know if they see you are respectful, love body art, and show real passion. That’s how a potential student becomes a sidekick.

Have you ever seen the Batman movies? Even someone as strong as Batman, when he sees that Robin has potential, he trains him and supports him—so Robin can become his sidekick!

And of course, if you already have some experience in Body Art or have learned some skills, Jimmy T. is very friendly and happy to arrange a meet-up appointment. If you don’t yet have a place to practice your art, come visit us and see what we can do for you!

Remember, education is one of the best life investments—even though it can sometimes be very expensive. If we’re on the same page and share the same passion, it would be a pleasure to meet you, and I hope to see you soon!

Jimmy T has already made things easier for you and created a great opportunity.
If you just keep thinking without taking action, you’re already losing both money and chances.
